The Department of Multimedia and Digital Technologies describe how the modern world works, plays, learns and interacts with each other. Multimedia and Digital Technologies have permeated every aspect of modern day lives as seen with virtual reality, augmented reality, mobile apps, websites, gaming and social media. Example applications in industry include advertisements with superior visualization, teaching/instructional videos that augment classroom environments, animation of concepts with avatars that mimic reality, immersive gaming environments, simulation of complex processes like disease propagation, climatic changes, evolution of galaxies, etc. These technologies work on a combination of interdisciplinary, theoretical, and specific application knowledge in the design, development, and production of multimedia and digital artefacts. These technologies have a huge potential of transforming and improving lives. The programmes offered by the department seek to place our graduates at the forefront of advances in multimedia, software development, audio technology, video production, advanced computer graphics and animation. The students will be equipped with skills related to visualization, production of models, integration of complex effects to make abstract artefacts give impressions of reality.
