The Technical University of Kenya has joined the Institute of Electronic Engineers(IEEE). This is after the official installation of the IEEE Student Branch at TU-K by the Director Esther Muchiri, the Vice Chair of IEEE Kenya Section and the CEO of eMentoring Africa accompanied by Mr. Radiance Mungu from Institution of Engineers Kenya, Dr. Peter Akuon, Eng. Kithinji Muringi and Eng. Chaltu Marta.
The formation of IEEE echoes TU-K’s readiness and significant role in leading the next technological revolution. It comprises students and staff from the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FEBE) and Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology(FAST). The areas of interest range from; Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science, Communication Technologies, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence among others.
IEE is fostering an environment of collaboration and engagement in support of its members by championing emerging technologies and embracing key challenges. IEEE members will have an impact on the world today and ultimately make it better and more prosperous. Under the guidance of the Institution Counsellor, Dr. Mary Ahuna, Proctor Dr. Kennedy Ronoh and the Institution Ambassador to IEEEXtreme, Stephen Okwiri the institution was ranked position five in Kenya
